Congratulations to Todd C. Ringstad
2017 Recipient of the Hon. Peter M. Elliott Award
The Orange County Bankruptcy Forum is pleased to announce that it selected Todd Ringstad of Ringstad & Sanders, LLP as the recipient of this year’s Hon. Peter M. Elliott Award. This award is given to members of our local community who demonstrate substantial knowledge of bankruptcy law, serve as a mentor or educator within our community, possess the highest level of honesty, contribute to the development and improvement of the OCBF, and serve to enhance and improve access to justice. The OCBF presented this award to Todd at the Holiday Cocktail Party on Wednesday, December 13th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Andrei’s Conscious Cuisine in Irvine, California.
Todd C. Ringstad was born in San Bernardino, California in 1954. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Riverside in 1976 and his Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law in 1980. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Ringstad served for one year as law clerk to the Honorable Mack Easley, Chief Justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ringstad has specialized in the representation of debtors, creditors, trustees and creditor committees in bankruptcy cases, and has established a reputation as one of Southern California’s leading bankruptcy practitioners. He has appeared in Bankruptcy Courts throughout California and in Delaware, New York, Texas and Nevada, and before the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, the United States District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Ringstad began his legal career at McKittrick, Jackson, DeMarco & Peckenpaugh in 1981. In 1986, he became a founding partner in Lobel, Winthrop & Broker and since 2005 has been a partner in Ringstad & Sanders, LLP, a firm specializing in business bankruptcy and related matters, with his law partner, Nanette Sanders.
Mr. Ringstad has taught and lectured extensively on bankruptcy law, trial tactics and legal ethics.
