On February 22, 2023, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its unanimous opinion in Bartenwerfer v. Buckley, 598 U. S. ____ (2023) (honest debtor/business partner/wife could not discharge creditor claim arising from fraud of dishonest partner/husband under 11 U.S.C. §523(a)(2)(A), even though the debtor did now know of the partner’s fraud). What issues are still unresolved?”

Continuing Legal Education Credit
This activity has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education by the State Bar of California in the amount of 1.o hour. The Orange County Bankruptcy Forum certifies that this activity conforms to the standards for the approved education activities prescribed by the rules and regulations of the State Bar of California governing MCLE.
A link with instructions on obtaining the CLE certificate will be shared during the webinar. The Zoom participation log serves in place of signing the Record of Attendance and notes total attendance time. Each attendee must be logged in through the Zoom system on their own device/computer and be present for the live program in its entirety to receive MCLE credit. Partial credit will not be given. Self-study credit is not available for this program.
